The level of pain and its change can be estimated by understanding the types of pain and the mechanism of its occurrence. Relieving cancer pain depends on the pain's etiology. A review of the literature on cancer‑related pain and analgesic drugs was conducted to acquire the necessary knowledge for the alleviation of intractable childhood cancer pain. Nociceptive pain is the root cause of cancer pain. Neuropathic pain is measured by checking pain levels involving sensory and mobility impairment and any evidence of allodynia or hyperalgesia.
